Gum Arabic, a natural gum also called gum acacia, is a substance that is taken from two sub-Saharan species of the acacia tree, Acacia senegal and Acacia seyal . Gum Arabic is a complex mixture of saccharides and glycoproteins. Gum Arabic can be fed on a daily basis to marmosets, tamarins and other gumnivorous animals.

Gum Arabic comes in a powder form and can be mixed with water to create the desired consistency. Letting the mixture dehydrate over time results in it crystallising.
