Wisbroek Softbill Handfeeding- 700gm tub
Wisbroek Softbill Handfeeding is
a handfeeding specially developed for the young of softbills. It is easily
digestible and provides all nutritional needs of the young. It can also be used
as force-feeding of sick or straggling young birds.
How does it work?
Handfeeding may be necessary if, for example, the parent
bird dies or the parents refuse to feed. If there are several young birds in
one brood, it may happen that the youngest one is not being fed enough by the
parents. It will then have to be fed by hand.
Wisbroek Softbill Handfeeding is a natural, high-energy
rearing food. It is specially and scientifically developed to feed young
softbills. The recipe of Wisbroek Softbill Handfeeding contains special
building blocks such as certified blood plasma. This promotes the development
of muscle tissue. Vitamin A and natural vitamins K1 and K2 support a healthy
bone matrix and optimal bone structure. In addition, they promote the growth of
the embryo. Finally, the probiotics in Wisbroek Softbill Handfeeding support
the resistance of the birds. The feed is easily digestible. The fine structure
makes it possible to feed it with a crop needle (0.8 mm).
Advice for use
To make the
Handfeeding and feed it to the bird, you need the following:
- ·
Wisbroek Softbill Handfeeding
- ·
Small syringe
- ·
Cup needle or feeding spoon
- ·
Container to prepare the food
- ·
Sturdy container to put the bird in during
feeding
Preparation:
Boiled water is the best way to prepare the porridge. Make
sure that you let the water cool down to a temperature of 35C. At this
temperature the enzymes do their work best and the Handfeeding food has a nice
structure.
Dosage: Add 1 part Universal Handfeeding to 1 part (max. 3
parts) water. Stir until all the powder is dissolved. Leave it to stand for
5-10 minutes and stir again until an even porridge forms. It is important to
let the porridge thicken well, so that the structure can pass through the
feeder easily.
Important: Never add additives to the Handfeeding food.
This disturbs the composition.
Feed the youngster:
Draw up the porridge with a syringe and press the air out.
Place the youngster in a small sturdy container that makes it feel like a nest.
Tip: A cut-up plastic bottle, for example, is very suitable for this. Place a
piece of paper towels at the bottom. Usually, the chick will hatch when you tap
on the edge of the nest. The Wisbroek Universal Handfeeding can then be fed
with a feeding syringe or a feeding spoon.
Storing Handfeeding food:
After preparation, the Handfeeding food can be kept for a
maximum of 8 hours. Store it at room temperature and out of the sun. Never put
it in the refrigerator, because this is too cold for the (young) bird and
reduces the effect of the feed.
Hygiene:
Wash your hands thoroughly before use and use clean
materials. Clean all the equipment (the containers, syringes, crop needles,
etc.) well after use. Hygiene is of vital importance when handfeeding young
birds.
Remove droppings:
You can often tell a bird's health from its droppings.
After feeding, check whether there is faeces in the nest. If this is the case,
then remove it. In principle, the young bird will produce neat droppings after
each feeding. This is contained in a membrane and can be taken out of the nest
in its entirety with, for instance, a pair of tweezers.
Attention: If the membrane around the faeces of the young
bird is missing, it cannot be picked up with tweezers or between the fingers.
It is then possible that the youngster has a bacterial infection. In this case,
have the faeces examined by a specialised veterinarian. If necessary, the vet
can prescribe the right medication. This medication can then be added to the
Handfeeding food.
