These salmon (Salmonidae) are farmed in the Norwegian fjords for human consumption. After filleting, the by-products are delivered fresh to Kiezebrink.
Salmon heads are naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids and contain valuable nutrients found to a lesser extent in meat. The bone in the salmon head is medium-hard, making it particularly suitable for experienced BARF feeders.
Please note: fatty fish species contain the enzyme thiaminase, which can break down vitamin B1. Therefore, it is recommended to feed fatty fish no more than once a week.
Salmon heads are a complementary food and suitable for use within a varied BARF menu, in combination with muscle meat, organs, and meaty bone.
